Discussions on financial health focus on budgeting, financial control, procurement, and maintaining the solvency of housing authorities.

Care for physical assets, housing maintenance, and crime prevention is pivotal, while sophisticated financial systems (e.g., HUD's eLOCCS) assist in managing these responsibilities. Executive directors should facilitate professional development and continual education to stay updated on best practices.

Overall, the guide serves as a comprehensive resource for executive directors to navigate their responsibilities effectively, ensuring transparent, ethical, and efficient management of housing authorities.
