HUD is currently in the process of phasing out HQS inspection protocols and implementing NSPIRE. NAHRO recommends that you pursue the Certified Specialist of Inspection – Voucher Operations (CSI-VO) instead, so you are prepared for the implementation of NSPIRE-V.

If you want to still attain the CSI-HQS certification, you will need to have previously completed HQS training or have the years of expeirence to waive training - NAHRO is no longer offering HQS inspection training. The HQS exam is still currently available, but will be phased out in the future.

Below are the requirements to recertify. These may be completed in any order, but all must be completed and appear on your NAHRO transcript prior to application submission. If any requirements are not currently on your transcript, your application will be denied. Please be sure to submit a complete and accurate application.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Completion of 0.5 CEUs.
CEUs must be completed after the issue date of your current certification and must have been completed within the past three years.

Ethics Training

Completion of NAHRO's Ethics for Housers, Ethics for Housing Professionals, OR Ethics for Management training.

Ethics for Housers must be completed after the issue date of your current certification, and must have been completed within the past three years.

Original Certification

You must already have a NAHRO CSI-HQS certification.

Your certification must be currently active or have expired fewer than six months ago
