The NAHRO LEAD Program is a six-session leadership development program for new and emerging leaders in housing and community development. It combines two in-person sessions with four virtual sessions and focuses on supervision, team management, coaching, goal setting, performance, and employee development.<br /><br />Participants explore their leadership strengths and values, personnel supervision and hiring, team culture and communication, delegation and engagement, goal setting and accountability, and leadership relationships up, down, and across an organization. For the final project, each participant develops a written business case and presents it to industry experts, who provide feedback.<br /><br />Before the first session, participants must complete the DISC and Gallup CliftonStrengths Top 5 assessments, print their reports, and bring them to Session 1. Virtual sessions require a device, camera, and microphone; business cards are recommended for in-person networking. Electronic materials will be provided, and printed workbooks and folders will be distributed at the first session.<br /><br />To graduate, participants must complete all six sessions and all homework. They must attend at least three of the four virtual sessions live; if they miss one, they must view its recording before the next session. Homework is assigned between sessions, and repeated incomplete work may lead to removal.<br /><br />The program concludes with a graduation session, business-case presentations, and opportunities to connect with NAHRO leaders, industry veterans, and potential mentors.
